Assets
An asset is an image file stored in the platform's central asset library and reused across many parts of the platform. Assets are not limited to content thumbnails — they are used anywhere an image is needed:
- Content thumbnails, banners, and cover art
- Platform logo and browser tab icon (set in Platform Configuration)
- Profile avatars (selected by viewers when creating or editing a profile)
- Tier icons (shown on the subscription paywall page)
- Email theme branding
Uploading an asset
Go to Admin → Assets and click Upload. Set a name, an optional description, and choose the image file. You can optionally set a target resolution and format at upload time — the platform will process the image on upload.
Updating an asset
Open any asset and click the edit icon. The update form lets you:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Name / Description | Rename or add notes to the asset |
| Resolution | Resize the image. Choose from common presets (128×128 up to 4K) or enter a custom value. Leave blank to keep the current size |
| Format | Convert the image format. WebP is recommended for best compression. Options: WebP, JPEG, PNG, GIF. Leave blank to keep the original |
| Crop | Toggle the crop tool to interactively select the region of the image to keep before saving |
| Avatar asset | Mark this asset as available in the profile avatar picker. Viewers will see it as an option when setting up their profile |
Caching delay on updates
When you update an asset's resolution or format, viewers who have already loaded the image may continue to see the old version until their browser cache expires. This is expected behaviour — the change will apply automatically over time.
Deleting an asset
Open the asset and click the trash icon. Deleting an asset detaches it from any content, profiles, or configuration that referenced it. A placeholder will be shown in its place until a new asset is assigned.
