VAST Ads
Your platform can serve ads from any VAST/VMAP-compliant ad source — a third-party ad network, or an ad server you run yourself. The platform doesn't care which; it just needs a VAST tag URL to request ads from.
A VAST tag URL must be configured for your environment before you can use this. Contact us to have one set up.
How it works
Once a VAST tag URL is configured for your environment:
- Set Ad Provider to the VAST option in Admin → Platform Config
- Set the Ads Audience to control which viewers see ads
- Optionally add ad breaks to specific videos — otherwise a default schedule is generated automatically from the platform-wide interval and pod size settings
- When a viewer reaches a break, the player requests an ad from your configured tag — targeting, selection, and delivery are handled by whichever ad source that tag points to
Fallback behavior
If the ad source returns no ad (empty response, targeting miss, or network error), the break is skipped silently and the video continues. No error is shown to the viewer.
Revenue and reporting
Revenue reporting and payout terms depend entirely on whichever ad source your VAST tag points to — check that provider's own dashboard and terms. Contact us with questions about your specific setup.
